Ritual Success

May 11, 2016

Today a client got me thinking about rituals and why they matter, a lot.

Countries with a strong food culture, like Italy, have stronger families because they have embedded norms or rituals around eating together.

Sports Psychologist Mario Faveri says that athletes at the top are pretty much the same physically. What differentiates the champions is that they use rituals, visualizations, meditations, or some kind of consistent routine just before they step on the ice, walk on the field, or jump in the pool.

Organizations, good ones, have rituals. They celebrate holidays, birthdays, milestones, achievements and they honour the difficult including loss like illness and even funerals.

What rituals keep you, your family and organizations strong?
