E-holiday Cards Ho Ho No Nos

December 23, 2009

I hate email and your clients do too. So why would you dump a mass Christmas greeting card, oops politically correct-icized, ‘Holiday’ e-card in their already over stuffed email inbox.

Grrr. Stop with the average.  Make 2010 the year that you love your clients enough to remember what their work lives are like. If you want to send holiday cheer shovel their walk in nothing but a Santa hat. I’m in Australia, it’s hot; someone has done it, not the shoveling.

Dressed, you could wipe off your client’s windshield and stick a new scraper under the wipers.  Or be like Insights Business, Marketing and Research Consultants and always send the smartest most interesting card year after year. Smart card for a smart business, nice branding.

Of course you could skip the holidays all together and send over a box of comedy CDs on Ground Hog day.  Just do something that is you and preferably that means exceptional. Adore your best customers by being remarkably attuned to their true needs. That’s what Santa would do.

Good is no longer good enough. The goal is perfection and the path that takes us there leads to excellence.
